Label design of PetSana salmon oil
APPROACH:
In 2019 our client PetSana, a family of products for the care and feeding of pets, asked us to design the label for one of their ideal supplements for pet food: PetSana Salmon OIL.
Salmon oil is a natural product derived from salmon. It is the ideal complement to a canine diet because it is a good source of protein and rich in omega-3 and omega-6 acids. In addition, its mineral content can be up to 20 times higher than that of other foods of animal origin.
CHALLENGE:
As a dietary supplement, many of the customers who buy dry feed do not usually buy this nutritional supplement, being this product very little valued, although many recognise that salmon oil for dogs and cats allows their pads not to be damaged, will control cholesterol levels and will prevent cardiovascular disorders to a large extent. The client asked for a design that was true to these values and would stand out on the shelf in their shops.
OUR SOLUTION:
In our label design We realised that a lot of the packaging on the market was very poor in terms of colour usage as most of them use transparent packaging with a single colour overprint on top of their transparent packaging. We had the opportunity to make a paper label and preferred to do it on a silver polypropylene substrate not only to highlight the shiny and reflective metallic shades, but also to give it a premium product look. And thus raise the perceptual value of the product from the shelf.
If you liked this success story about label design, we recommend this one about the Silicat sandbag design.
