Design of the entire range of snacks in the Fresh Mediterranean product family. Creative conceptualisation, idea generation, branding development, packaging design, editing and supervision of the final artwork, through to the management of their communication pieces. APPROACH:
In another previous success storyr We talked to you about how Brandesign was able to redesign the entire range of dog and cat food for the Fresh Mediterranean range, in that opportunity we had to analyse many packaging lines at the point of sale and establish a differentiation strategy for the design of its main range of dry pet food. For this opportunity our client asked us to have some fun for the design of their snacks line (and it’s not that we take the job lightly), but certainly the design of the feed range has much more weight than the snacks, since in this category it is usually more daring because we are not talking about your dog’s diet but about a prize, a compensation, a treat or incentive biscuit. So ‘fun’ is implied when we talk about the design of a snack.
The approach was based on differentiating and designing two product lines:
EASY SNACKS LINE
5 references or chicken, meat, salmon and fruit bars for adult dogs and puppies.) Made in a slow cooking process to maintain the flavour and nutrients of each ingredient. Bar shape Low in cereals. Weight: 200 g. Flagship line of snacks.
FRESH SNACKS LINE
8 Snacks for adult dogs or puppies, made with fresh ingredients and fruits, highly digestible. Slow cooking process to preserve the flavour and nutrients of each ingredient intact. Mini bone shape. Bag of 100 g. More diverse and economical line
CHALLENGE:
Our challenge was to achieve different objectives:
Achieve a clear differentiation of each product within its line Achieve a clear differentiation of both lines Unify criteria in terms of colour Create a colourful experience for a striking range Communicate the goodness of the product and its natural ingredients.
The products are of very good quality and very affordable so we wanted a ‘friendly’ design. We also studied the case that a snack could be the gateway to the feed range, because while the buyer of feed sacks is very loyal to the brand, and does not dare to change the diet of their pet, with the snacks category something different happens: they are sweets (snacks, biscuits, dog treats) so it is very common to find ‘switchers’ buyers who switch from one brand of snacks to another to try. And this design could represent the gateway for them to discover the full range of Fresh Mediterranean food.

As a result of the work done as a design agency specialised in packaging, we designed 2 very attractive product lines with very bright colours that stand out, very tempting at shop level when placed on the shelves at the point of sale, also very differentiated from each other by product type but at the same time maintaining a hegemony of brand family or lineUp.
